CARIBOU

DESCRIPTION

Created for the Caribou Islands District Fire Hall (Ladies’ Auxiliary) by Elizabeth MacKenzie in 1982. The Caribou Islands lie north of Nova Scotia and are part of Pictou County.

The designer gave the colours the following symbolism:

Red for our sunsets, our lobsters, and our Fire Trucks.
White represents the white boats,
and the island’s little white church.
Grey was chosen to represent the herring and the seagulls.
