CERCLE DE FERMIERES DE SAINT ELIE D' ORFORD
DESCRIPTION
This tartan was designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the
Cercle de Fermieres of Saint-Elie d'Orford at the suggestion of the designer, Claire Villeneuve-Gagnon.
Members chose the colours that would be used. A sample was created and presented at the December 2009
meeting of the Cercle and was accepted by the members of the Cercle de Saint-Elie d'Orford.
The colours are:
denim blue is used to participate in conserving Quebec's textile heritage;
green represents the Group's ecological and recycling concerns;
raspberry red represents friendship between members of the Cercle;
yellow represents the blossoming of the Group's knowledge.
