STRATHCONA FIREFIGHTERS PIPES AND DRUMS BAND

DESCRIPTION

This tartan was designed by Mr Iain Thomas of Sherwood Park, Alberta for the members of the Strathcona Firefighters Pipes and Drums Band and Association, as well as the members of Strathcona County Emergency Services and IAFF Local 2461.

The design’s threadcount incorporates the founding year of SCES, 1956 and the 100th Anniversary of the International Association of Fire Fighters in 2018. The 6 lines represent the six stations currently operating with SCES. The colours chosen reflect the Strathcona County Emergency Services Department Crest and the Strathcona Firefighters Pipes and Drums Crest; black represents fallen comrades; blue signifies the firefighters; and the white represents the officers and Chiefs.
