This is a dress version of the Highlands of Haliburton tartan and was designed by Sharon Luke in 2011
to commemorate the tartan's 50th anniversary. The Highlands of Haliburton Dress
tartan is based on the original design from 1963 for the Highlands of Haliburton
Tartan, which was originally commissioned by the Haliburton
County Chamber of Commerce.
The colours of the tartan were chosen to represent
the green of the forests;
blue of the lakes;
white for both the snow and the provincial flower, the Trillium;
the red and gold for the splendour of the fall colours;
brown for the earth and the work of the early pioneers.
** If you intend to weave or otherwise use any of these patterns, please be aware that you may need
the written permission of the designer or producer. This information can be found in the Scottish Register of Tartans.
