This tartan was designed for the bicentennial of Sydney, Nova Scotia by Mrs. Patsy MacMullin.
The tartan was designed to reflect the importance of the steel industry to the city.
Grey represents the steel plant and the steel it produces,
Dark Orange for the hot steel ingots,
Black for the coal for the furnaces and
Off-White for the limestone used in the production of steel.
