PROVINCIAL CENTENNIAL TARTANS

The Scottish Tartans Authority records two provincial centennial tartans, the Ontario and Quebec centennials, both of which are almost identical, except for colour. The note for the former states that ‘This tartan was one of a special presentation for centennial year”.

The World Register of Tartans also records a number of patterns for various provincial or centennial tartans with very similar threadcounts.

CIPO records 10 tartans from Pik Mills, numbered consecutively and all dated the 16th February 1966. They all share the same pattern of threadcounts, but with the colours altered systematically. The pattern is almost identical to Pik Mills' 'Canadian Confederation' tartan.
